Remind parade entry drivers to drive slowly and watch carefully for children who may dart into the street.Appropriate items can ONLY be tossed from walkers, cars and golfcarts.Only children older than 12 may be allowed to toss items from a vehicle. Adult supervision for younger children in the parade is required.
Carpool, please. We know that parking is difficult.
Parking is on side streets. Parade participants may be dropped off at the Live Oak Golf Course driving range. Then drivers may park at The Lakeway Church at the intersection of Lakeway Drive and Lakeway Boulevard.
All floats and vehicles will end up back at The Lakeway Church.
The parade will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m., and it usually finishes at about 10 a.m.
Arrive early, because Lakeway Drive becomes very congested starting around 7:45 a.m. Participants may enter staging as early as 7 a.m.
***PLEASE NOTE *** Lakeway Drive will change to one-way traffic starting at 7:30 a.m.
We will send the parade numbers a few days prior to the parade via email to the persons who submitted the entry forms.
PLEASE share that number with everyone in your entry.
Also, PLEASE print out the parade number we send and tape it to the RIGHT FRONT of your float or the PASSENGER SIDE windshield. This will greatly speed up the arrival process.
FLOATS & PARADE VEHICLES
Beginning at 7:30 a.m., Lakeway Drive will change to one-way traffic toward the Live Oak Golf Course.
LEFT LANE is reserved for all floats and parade vehicles only.
DROPPING OFF PARTICIPANTS
RIGHT LANE is reserved for antique cars using the Live Oak Golf Course parking lot and cars dropping off participants. The "drop off" vehicles will be directed to Flamingo to drop off their parade participants at the back of the driving range. Please do not drop off participants before reaching Flamingo.
Candy is allowed and may only be tossed from carts, golf carts, walkers, etc. but not from elevated floats or boats. Other appropriate items, such as fans, flowers, and gift certificates, are permitted as well. No political or "issue" propaganda may be used during the parade preparation or viewing. Some items are not appropriate to toss into crowds as they may cause injury.
Please select your handouts appropriately.
Refreshments will NOT be available at the staging grounds. Please bring water or snacks for your participants.
Portable toilets will be available only at the staging area.
The official end of the parade is at the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek.
However, all parade drivers must continue to The Lakeway Church parking lot at the intersection of Lakeway Drive and Lakeway Boulevard to offload their participants. Please come back to the Lakeway Activity Center for hot dogs, entertainment, and our wonderful pageant of flags.
The judges' viewing stand will be located at the Zephyr Street bend on Lakeway Drive.
Winners will be announced at the Pageantry of Flags which follows the parade at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek. Winners will be posted on the city website on or after July 5, 2018.
Ribbons will be available for pickup at the Lakeway Activity Center main desk on or after July 5.
In the event of light rain, the parade will start on time.
If it is raining heavily close to the 8:30 a.m. start time, organizers may delay the parade start by up to 30 minutes.
The parade will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain or thunder and lightning.

The parade begins at 8:30 a.m. sharp.
Entries travel one mile from the Live Oak Golf Course Clubhouse to the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek.
Viewers are encouraged to arrive early.
As with all Parks & Recreation activities, please leave your pets safely and comfortably at home.
If you would like to be a parade participant, please fill out and submit the Parade Entry Form. The deadline for parade entry applications is June 26, 2019.
Parking is not permitted on Lakeway Drive. Parking is available at the Activity Center, Lakeway City Hall, and side streets.

Limited handicap parking is available in the Activity Center parking lot. Please display your handicap license or tag. Disabled persons can proceed to the Lakeway Drive side of the Activity Center where we will have a tent marked for disability viewing located along Lakeway Drive.
