Mayor Tom Kilgore took the oath of office at the City Council meeting on Monday, May 15, which was administered by Judge Kevin Madison. He will serve a second two-year term after winning the recent May 6 election. Councilmember Gretchen Vance also took the oath of office that evening, serving another two-year term on City Council. Councilmember Kent O'Brien also took the oath of office that evening, serving his first term. Councilmember-Elect Christopher Forton was not present that evening, but will be sworn in at a future meeting. City Council also voted (6-0) to select Councilmember Louis Mastrangelo as mayor pro tem.
Former Councilmembers Keith Trecker and Sanjeev Kumar did not run for another term, and were honored that evening for their many years of service to the City of Lakeway.
