The Lakeway Parks and Recreation Committee acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council and to the Director of Parks and Recreation to recommend the establishment of facilities, programs and policies, including the acquisition and development or improvement of land or lots earmarked for parks and recreational purposes, which meet the recreational needs of the citizens of the city.
The committee assists the director in establishing long-range goals for the parks system, in developing capital improvements programs, and in formulating recommendations for expenditures from the “park fund.”
