The City of Lakeway property tax rate is .1815 per $100 assessed value - $0.1585 for Maintenance and Operations and $0.0230 for Debt Service. Taxes paid to the City accounts for approximately 6% of a citizen’s tax bill.

The Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector collects the City’s property taxes. Taxes are billed in October of each year and are due upon receipt of the statement. By State Law, on January 1, a tax lien is automatically placed on the property to ensure taxes are paid. On February 1, penalties and interest begin to accrue.
