Each year, the City of Lakeway plans a special event for our residents who have hazardous waste to dispose of. These items are not allowed to be disposed of in the receptacle provided to our residents for normal weekly solid waste pick-up. Therefore, the City of Lakeway holds a Household Hazardous Waste event each year for the convenience of our residents, and the safety and well-being of everyone.

The 2012 HHW event was held on Saturday, May 19.  As usual, this event was a huge success!  849 participants were served.  The following list shows how much we collected:

Total                                      55,657 lbs of HHW that did not end up in the lake or in the landfill!

If you are unable to attend our local annual Household Hazardous Waste Event, you may wish to drop off your items at the City of Austin & Travis County Household Hazardous Waste Facility.
