Mission
To improve the health of Lakeway’s urban forest by slowing the spread of oak wilt, a deadly tree disease that threatens the natural beauty of our community

Objectives

  • To contain existing oak wilt centers with oak wilt suppression trenches
  • To provide guidance and support to property owners impacted by oak wilt
  • To prevent new oak wilt centers through public education and enforcement of the Diseased Tree Ordinance
  • To encourage homeowners to plant a diversity of trees, thereby enhancing the resilience of the community forest
  • To assist citizens and City departments with other tree preservation and forest health issues

If your oak looks sick, call (512) 608-9722 or email Forestry to request an oak wilt inspection.
